Question about mooring internal force
Quote from Chris on 2. October 2024, 12:30Dear David,
I would like to study the internal forces of mooring. I understand QBlade include bending stiffness and axial stiffness for mooring element which are related to the ANCF beam element virtual work method. When I assign load sensor for mooring, it only provides the tension force. I would like to know how to get the bending moment? How is the value of bending compare to the axial force? I guess the shear effect is not included in the mooring calculation.
Thanks
Chris

thanks

in the latest release the bending strain, and the bending moment cannot be directly requested. Hoever you can indirectly infer these quantities by deriving the line curvature from the x,y,z positional information which can be extracted.
The next release will include sensors for both bending strain and bending moment!

David
