Timoshenko FPM

Hi David,

I want to use Timoshenko FPM, but how should the parameters such as Beam offset X, Beam offset Y and Pitch be calculated?

BR

Hi,

by default, the structural beam is placed at the pitch-axis within each airfoil section.

The vales for offset-x and offset-y can be used to shift the beam within the airfoil section away from the pitch axis, if required.

The pitch entry is the structural pitch, e.g. the angle between the chord and the principal bending axes (https://docs.qblade.org/src/user/turbine/structure.html#cross-sectional-coordinate-systems).

Depending on in which coordiate system the FPM matrixed are defined you might have to apply a rotation or not.

BR,

David
