Export blade.str file
Quote from zhouxiaobai on 6. June 2026, 03:41Hi David,
I’m just starting to learn QBlade, and I want to know how to export the blade.str file in QBlade. I noticed that the content in the exported bld file does not match that of the str file.
Kind regards,
zhouxiaobai

to export the structural blade data tables of an existing aeroelastic turbine definition you can either go into the turbine design module, edit the turbine and then click the button “Export Struct.”.
Alternatively you can simply excport the complete turbine definition, in this case all structural definitions and the data tables are exported to the /Structure folder.
Best regards,
David

Thank you for your reply. I am working on a floating wind-wave hybrid power generation platform and would like to know how to model the impact of wave energy converters on the platform in QBlade. I primarily focus on vertical-axis wind turbines but still need to account for the influence of wave energy devices.
Kind regards,

QBlade itself does not provide functionality for modelling wave energy converters. However, if you are interested in investigating the effect of a wave energy converter on the performance and dynamics of a floating wind turbine, you could implement the wave energy converter as an external DLL and integrate it into the QBlade simulation.
This approach would allow you to include additional inertia effects and other external forces in the simulation. Alternatively, you could use the SIL interface to couple QBlade directly with a separate wave energy converter simulation, or simply apply external forces to approximate its influence on the turbine.
Best regards,
David

Thank you for your reply. If I implement the wave energy converter as an external DLL, will it affect my control of the permanent magnet synchronous motor implemented via DLL? The control is completed in Matlab/Simulink, while the wave energy converter is implemented in AQWA. Can the QBladeCE version support SIL?
Kind regards,

I would probably implement such a model as a seperate, external library, not within the controller library itself.
The way the model behaves it completely up to you.
Checkout the documentation here:
