Optimize chord function for HAWT blade design appears to not be working in the new software

The optimize chord function for HAWT blade design appears to not be working in the new software? The optimize twist works fine, but only the linear function appears to be working for the optimize chord, not the Schmitz or Betz. I downloaded 2.0.4.7 and it seems to have the same issue.

Hi Oram,

I checked this – the optimize chord function only works if also the optimize twist function is activated (either Betz or Schmitz). I’ll change this slightly for the next code revision so that the chord optimization it is also working independently of the twist optimization.

Hi David,

Thanks for looking into the issue. I can’t seem to get it to optimize chord now no matter what I toggle. I’m wondering if something is wrong with my model? I have attached it if you have a moment to look at it.

Hi Oram,

I have quickly checked the optimization with the project file that you attached and for me everything works as it should be.

Using QBlade-CE v2.0.4.8 twist and chord can both be optimized for the blade design within the project . So I cant really tell what’s the issue on your side.

Thanks for investigating. For whatever reason, it turns out that QBlade is not working fully on the computer I was using, which is strange because it is new and powerful. When I tried to optimize chord nothing would happen. I just downloaded the software on a different PC and the optimization works fine. Sorry to tie you up on my own issue. Thanks again for making the software available, it’s awesome.
