Wind shear effect
Quote from sun on 11. March 2023, 09:44Hello Professor David, I want to ask how to consider the wind shear effect in the case of turbulent wind. I found that when the wind speed is set to turbulent wind, I cannot set the wind shear index (Power Law Exponent).

if you are using a turbulent windfield the wind shear should already be included in that windfield data. E.g. when you use TurbSim to create a turbulent inflow field you can choose a windshear coefficient in TurbSim’s input file.
The wind direction on the contrary can even be changed after a turbulent windfield has been created. This is then realized by a simple rotation of the windfield itself.
